Design Science Research Group (DSRG) @ MLU

About

The Design Science Research Group (DSRG) at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is a research group dedicated to topics in design-oriented business informatics (better known as design science research). The DSRG, led by Dr. Stephan Kühnel, brings together members with backgrounds in information systems research, business informatics, computer science, engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence to work together on exciting research projects and topics that fall within the scope of DSR or have interfaces with it.

Core competencies and corresponding projects

Our core competencies lie in the conception, development, evaluation, and practical transfer of new technologies and artifacts. Examples of our research include exploring the use of augmented reality to improve or maintain physical and mental health (see, for example, our projects ALiS and STAR), developing apps and systems to simulate and coordinate volunteers in disaster situations (see, for example, our projects KUBAS and KatHelfer-PRO   ), or designing new approaches and tools to evaluate IT and information security measures as well as compliance in general (see, for example, our projects EconBPC, BCIT, and ProBITS).

The DSRG works closely with national and international partners in the individual research projects. A list of all ongoing and completed projects at the Chair of Information Systems, esp. Business Information Management, can be found here: >>projects<<
